Welcome to Beta Upsilon, the University of Florida Chapter of Delta Omega, the Honorary Society in Public Health. The chapter is housed within the College of Public Health and Health Professions and was established in November of 2009.
Delta Omega was founded at Johns Hopkins University if 1924 in the School of Hygiene and Public Health by graduate students Edgar Erskine Hume and Claude W. Mitchell. According to the National Delta Omega website, “Membership in Delta Omega reflects the dedication of an individual to increasing the quality of the field, as well as to the protection and advancement of the health of all people.”
There are over 70 Delta Omega chapters in the world, with over 14,000 elected members.
